Surechem celebrated 25 years of trading in style, on the weekend March 6,7,8 treating staff, directors and their partners to a long weekend at Dunston Hall Hotel, Norwich. On Friday evening everyone enjoyed a meal and visit to the Theatre Royal, Norwich. On Saturday afternoon, the highlight of the weekend for most, was trip to Lotus test track for a Scare Yourself Sensible session, whilst the ladies who didn't wish to go to Lotus luxuriated in the hotel pamper room. A Gala dinner on Saturday evening rounded off the treat, everyone returning home on Sunday for work on Monday.
REACH Regulations - 28/07/2008
As you are aware the Registration Evaluation and Authorisation of Chemicals (REACH Regulations) are being introduced by the EU. The majority of products purchased from SCP are imported from within the EU, but where we do import from outside the EU the quantities are under one tonne per annum and therefore exempt. There is a phase-in period from June 1st - November 30th 2008 for manufacturers or importers to pre-register substances so that they can continue to be used. Currently only one of our many suppliers has issued a listing for chemicals they intend to pre-register. We are therfore unable to respond to any customer questionaires regarding specific chemicals. We understand that the large volume products e.g acids and solvents will be pre-registered whilst a very small volume of chemicals will fall within the expemption clause. Once the pre-registered period has passed we will be asked by suppliers to collect data from our customers so we can supply the uses to which their products are put and at that point we will be in contact with you. Surechem has launched the long awaited SCP chemical e-catalogue
Customers will now be able to view the full range of chemicals, pack sizes and specifications available through Surechem and directly download MSDS notes from the site. Incorporated into the website is a popup Chemical and Filterpaper comparission charts to help find the most suitable grade for the application or the equivalent SCP grade.
